POSITION:      Accounting and Payroll Administrator
 
REPORTING TO:  Assistant General Manager/Controller

STATUS:                Full Time
 
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an amazing opportunity for a full-time role at one of Canada’s first private ski clubs located in majestic Collingwood Ontario.
 
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager/Controller, this is a key position and an excellent career building opportunity for a self-driven individual. Your role is more than just accounting and payroll administration, you will be part of a team that strives for service excellence for our members, guests and colleagues. The successful candidate will be reliable, detail oriented, accurate and work well in a team environment.
 
This is a unique employment environment where you must be committed to work weekend days and holidays during the months of December through to April, however you can look forward to Fridays off during the months of July and August.
 
We would like a firm start date May 31, 2021 or sooner, resumes will be accepted until April 28th.
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for full cycle payroll and all payroll related remittances
  • ROE and T4/T4A electronic filings
  • Responsible for full cycle accounts receivable
  • Processing of monthly PAPS
  • Bank reconciliations
  • HST remittances
  • Assist with month-end financial preparation
  • Create salary verification and letter of employment as required
  • Run payroll and accounting reports as required
  • Respond to payroll and accounting questions in a professional and timely manner
  • Build a professional relationship with members, guests and co-workers
  • Answer phones and emails in a friendly and professional manner
  • General office duties
Qualifications:
  • Business or Accounting diploma/degree
  • Minimum five years of full cycle payroll and accounting experience
  • Knowledge of current payroll procedures and related laws
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience using JONAS accounting software is an asset
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take on multiple duties while working successfully under pressure.

Days and Hour Requirements:
  • Sept to mid Dec: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • mid-Dec to mid April:  Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • mid April to end of June: Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • July, August: Mon-Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • required to work all holidays between Dec and April except Christmas Day


Compensation:
Compensation based on experience – starting range $23 to $26 per hour
