JOB FAIR - Looking for a winter seasonal position? Osler Bluff Ski Club is hosting a job fair on Saturday September 23 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Come to the Club for an interview on the spot. We are looking for Food and Beverage, Member Service, Lift Operators, Goomers, and Playroom support.

Ski Lift Mechanic - Full-Time Year-Round 
Osler Bluff Ski Club has an amazing opportunity for someone who is interested in working with a great Ski Lift Mechanic team and supporting the launch of our new strategic plan! It is an exciting time for the Club as we continue our journey in becoming the region’s premier 4 season Club while ensuring Winter is always first.

 
This role will be a salaried position with a salary range of $75,000 - $95,000 which will ensure consistent pay all year round. Signing bonus is also available.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, Hill Operations, this role will be hands-on and will be responsible for all aspects of ski lift maintenance and operations.
 
As a key member of the Operations team, you will work cohesively with the team and will assist other areas as needed. You will also be highly motivated, team player who is a self-starter and is solution oriented.
 
This role is 40 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business. During the ski season (December to mid-April), the schedule will be flexible based on the Club’s Operating Calendar. This will include working holidays and weekends. In the summer season the schedule will primarily be 40 hours per week. Schedules can be changed based on the needs of the business.
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain relationships with Club staff.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to CSA Z98 Standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Work closely with the Operations, Lift Mechanic Lead with ski lift operations.
  • Support the opening and closing inspections of lifts and daily operations when required.
  • Assist in emergency situations including lift evacuations.
  • Report, communicate and rectify any unsafe situations.
  • Responsible for completing daily circle check logs when operating Club equipment, e.g. snowmobiles, utility vehicles, etc.  
  • Responsible for the safe operations of snowmobiles, trucks and side-by-sides as necessary.
  • Work closely with and assist other departments such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, Hill Marshall, and Lift Operations as required.
  • Always be aware of the safety of members, guests, and other employees.
  • Assist and work closely with other team members with annual budgeting, maintenance projects where/when required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Manager, Hill Operations or the Operations, Lift Mechanic Lead.
 
Qualifications:
  • SML-B or SLM-A is required
  • High School diploma or vocational training would be an asset
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean abstract is required
  • Ability to operate snowmobiles and ATV’s in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment would be an asset
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be physically fit and be able to perform in physically demanding activities

Member Engagement and Activities Lead - Full-Time Year-Round 
This is an exciting new role for Osler Bluff Ski Club. This is a hands-on position which will work closely with the Member Engagement and Activities Manager and collaborate with the Operations and Buildings team, and Food & Beverage sub-contractor to ensure success of all on/off snow events, member events, etc.  are executed successfully. This position coordinates, prepares for and ensures all details are looked after to complete well executed events. This individual is an ambassador of the Club and must ensure that each member/guest has a memorable experience.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Club staff, and members.
  • Interact and converse with members, guests, and other employees in a friendly, courteous, and co-operative manner. Maintain a positive and helpful attitude towards members, guests, and other employees.
  • Support social media strategies, and creating content to a variety of platforms.
  • Responsible for analyzing and presenting social data.
  • Support with full cycle event planning. This will include the planning of events, celebrations, Ladies Day, Men’s Day, etc., the implementation/set up, being present during event tear down and clean up.
  • Support the set up and execution of activities for junior, teens, young adults, etc.
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to private event inquiries.
  • Support the budget process for each event.
  • Ensure safety management is in place for events.
  • Support and update the Operating Calendar daily to capture event details.
  • Responsible for the design and displaying of promotional materials for events held at the Club on social boards, digital media and the website.
  • Work with the Member Engagement and Activities Manager to push out important information to the members on a timely basis through e-blasts and other means.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful completion of a college diploma in Events, or related field would be preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of event management, special event planning and or hospitality management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of social media editing and posting.
  • Advanced proficiency is required in the use of Microsoft Office, Publisher, Photoshop, G-suite programs or other media software. Experience with JONAS would be an asset.
  • Experience conceptualizing and managing digital campaigns.
  • Experience dealing with IT systems (Teams, database software, etc.)
  • Strong team player with an ability to take initiative.  
  • Ability to perform and communicate in a highly professional and effective manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and/or reasoning.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with strong judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to execute a range of job duties and changing priorities.

Groomer Operator - Seasonal 
Reporting to the Grooming Lead, this role will be hands-on and will be responsible for Grooming the ski hills in the winter season.
 
This role is approximately 40 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business. During the ski season (December to mid-April), the schedule will be flexible based on the weather and the ability to groom snow. This will include working evenings and nights when optimal temperatures provide for the best grooming. This will include working holidays.
 
Snowmaker - Seasonal 
This is a great opportunity to work on some of the best ski hills on the Escarpment. We are looking for hard-working individuals to join our seasonal Snowmaking team! Our Snowmakers must be flexible as this role is dependent on weather and must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
