The Tradition Lives On

Osler Bluff Ski Club’s greatest asset is its ability to provide a family oriented recreational environment, where children, parents and grandparents can participate together. For four generations, the Club’s progressive spirit has ensured superior facilities and a wide variety of high quality programs. Our truly private environment creates the friendly atmosphere of a community that is a large family unto itself. Founded in 1949 by two men with a vision to ski with shorter lift lines and less crowded slopes, Osler Bluff Ski Club has become a truly unique family experience.

Features

  • A base elevation 200 feet higher than Blue Mountain and a location 10 kilometres from the Georgian Bay shoreline creates more natural snow as the prevailing winds push up over the escarpment and move inland. Osler Bluff’s northeast exposure also provides better protection against snow erosion from wind and direct sun. The distance from Georgian Bay reduces the water’s moderating effect on the temperature, allowing for more optimal artificial snowmaking at the beginning of the season, and much cozier skiing conditions later in the season.

  • Our vertical drop of 743 feet is among the greatest in Ontario, providing some of the longest runs with a total of over 20 runs from beginner to expert, and the most skiable acreage per member of all Ontario clubs.

  • Snowmaking services over 90% of the skiable terrain and groomers work throughout the night to create optimum snow conditions.

  • Snowboarding and freestyle is an integral part of Osler culture. Our 8 acre terrain park boasts a 450-foot full-size competition half-pipe plus two dozen features including rails, boxes, jumps and hips. Four lifts, including two high-speed detachable quad chairs service the area. For those wanting a change of pace, over 12 km of marked cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails wind through the club property.

Snow School & Racing

The high standard of skiing and snowboarding evident at Osler is a testament to the dedication, skill and enthusiasm found in our snow school. It is renowned as one of the finest in Canada with over 65 instructors. From pre-schooler to senior, beginner to expert, there is a program for everyone. Christmas camps to weekend sessions to March Break camps — we have it all!

Racing is an integral part of Osler life with an extremely qualified and competent coaching staff. A total of seven Osler junior racers have progressed to Canada’s National Team, including six-time World Cup champion Laurie Graham, two-time Olympian Luke Sauder, and more recently Scott Barrett.

From entry-level five year olds, to inter-club team racing, to individual provincial racing or our own adult house league (which is as popular for its camaraderie as for its competitiveness), there is racing for everyone from the young to the young at heart

Benefits of Membership

Each year we usually offer a limited number of new memberships. When you add it up, Osler has it all! But the reason most people join is summed up in four words: “Family — The Osler Experience.” When children reach the age of 18 they have the option of becoming a shareholder for a nominal fee. Their future spouse and children become a part of the Osler family and the tradition is passed on. Osler now has four generations of skiing families.

When you make an investment that lasts a lifetime, to be passed on to your children and their children, you want the very best. Bring your family and spend a day with us to see for yourself and experience the magic of Osler.

It’s never too late to start creating memories at Osler!

A new category of membership has been created for the young at heart. The Senior 60 plus Membership is geared to people who are retired or semi-retired and are not looking for any privileges for their children. This is also an opportunity for parents of existing members to join the Club and watch their grandchildren grow! The Senior Membership includes both a single membership fee and a couple membership fee. For more information on this new membership category or our family membership please contact Jennipher Ryerse, Member Services Administrator, by email or at 705 445-4507.
